Dad's Favorite Molasses Cookies

So I made these cookies years ago, and my dad grabbed on and said, "These are one of my favorite cookies." Hence the name "Dad's Favorite Molasses Cookies." Chewy. . .Spicy. . .Crispy. . .Christmas.

Dad's Favorite Molasses Cookies

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
4 Tbsp molasses
2 1/4 cup flour
Additional Sugar for rolling

1. Cream together shortening and sugar until fluffy.

2. Add in egg and mix until combined.

3. Mix in salt, baking soda, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger.

4. Add in molasses and stir in flour.

5. Form into 1" balls, and roll in sugar.

6. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.
